Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies marijuana strain, as the name suggests, is one of several phenotypes of the legendary Girl Scout Cookies strain. This is an extremely rare cannabis strain to see in Europe, and as far as I am aware the only place to get it in Barcelona is at La Mesa private cannabis club. A potent, fragrant and delicious strain, Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies is not only an excellent strain as a special and unique treat, it’s also extremely useful for a wide variety of daily-use purposes.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: History and Genetics

Developed by The Cali Connection in California in conjunction with the West Coast Rapper Berner, this phenotype of GSC was only available as a cut until recently. Now The Cali Connection and Gorilla Seeds have feminized seeds available.

Thin Mint GSC was developed by crossing original Girl Scout Cookies with F1 Durban Poison and OG Kush. Thin Mint is one popular phenotype of GSC, while Platinum Girl Scout Cookies is also extremely popular. For now, both of these strains are generally difficult to acquire outside of California.

How did I get Thin Mint GSC in Barcelona, Spain?

In the last few weeks I had been searching for a new strain to review, but despite being a member at numerous private cannabis clubs in Barcelona, I just couldn’t find anything that really sparked my interest. Finally my friend and grower for La Mesa Barcelona hit me up with 6 grams of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and I knew with one look and one whiff from the bag that this was going to be a special strain. I wasn’t disappointed.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: Look & Feel

La Mesa’s growing staff, also fellow socios, did an excellent job curing this strain. Extremely frosty with trichomes, Thin Mint buds are pliable but dense and sticky enough that when you press a bud, it yields satisfyingly, but does not bounce back at all.

Thin Mint GSC exhibits densely populated but thin and wispy trichomes throughout the flowers, interspersed moderately with reddish orange “hairs.” Overall the green coloration of the buds is light and in some cases where the trichomes are thickly distributed the buds appear almost white.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: Taste & Smell

The Thin Mint phenotype of GSC is aptly named as it smells like a delicious sweet baked treat with a hint of mint/eucalyptus, and a little bit of earthiness. The dessert-like qualities of this strain intensify when breaking open a bud, but generally the scent does not change.

Incredibly, the scent profile of this strain comes across with very little lost in flavor. Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies is a delicious sweet treat – this is the best way to summarize the taste and smell of this fantastic phenotype.

Unlike other unique or flavorful strains, Thin Mint GSC does not lose its minty cookies flavor with successive hits. Even after multiple burns of a joint or bong of this strain, you’ll still get hit after hit of scrumptiousness.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: Potency

Thin Mint GSC is an extremely potent strain. What I found after testing this strain for about a week is that there are essentially two stages of the high, which are dependent on how much you smoke or ingest. With just one or two good-sized hits from a bong or joint, most of the effects remain focused in the head, eyes and neck. A cerebral type of high, this is perfect for working, exercising or otherwise “getting stuff done.” The high is moderately intense but for me, two hits of Thin Mints is not enough to be fully satisfied.

At 3-4 or more hits of this strain, the cerebral effects remain but the body effects also begin to take hold strongly. This strain generally works its way into my calves and upper thighs first, then the head and neck effects move down the chest until my torso is completely relaxed. Interestingly, these body effects never extend beyond the areas mentioned; extremities like hands and feet seem unaffected.

After 4 hits or more the high changes from an active one to a rather sleepy one. While I did use this strain during my every-other-day 10 mile (16km) run and found that it was extremely useful for achieving a meditative state and lessening any related join or muscular pain, it also made me sleepy to the point of being sluggish.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: Duration

Veteran stoners can expect a strong high for 2-3 hours. This high is moderately reduced by eating food or drinking cold beverages. However, even strenuous and sustained exercise does not seem to diminish the high. I typically smoke a third to a half a joint immediately prior to running 8-10 miles and with Thin Mint I am still just as high even after a long hard run in the Spanish sun.

This strain has a short peaking period; most of the effects from each hit are felt immediately or within a minute or two. This makes it an excellent candidate for predictable dosing, where you know basically what to expect within a couple of minutes of smoking and are not unpleasantly surprised by a long “creeper” effect.

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies is a 5 Star premium strain that has a full range of incredible qualities that make it highly desirable to nearly any cannabis enthusiast or medical user. This includes a unique and memorable fragrance, a delicious dessert-like flavor, and a potent, long-lasting high. Have you tried Thin Mint GSC? 1. Okay folks, here are some images (excuse the quality, this person is a grower, not a photographer) of Thin Mint GSC grown by a friend of mine. He got a couple of different phenotypes out of his TMGSC grow, check it out:

    1. I’m growing that right now. It’s on day 16 of flowering as we speak. And I also have one or two ready to be harvested and one on the drying rack now that I think of it. The provenance is solid too the seeds came from Attitude Seed bank in Great Britain. These are clones from those seeds I personally bought from Attitude.

  2. Hey Russ, I like your review about the TMGSC. I’ve been growing the auto version from Fast Buds . I must say it is the best auto i’ve ever grown . But mine have a much paler colour . They look like litlle cookie nugs .The taste is sweet earthy , like gingerbread cookies, very special ! the smell is very strong en rich straight up cookiedough . Even my father in law can’t keep his nose out of the jar 🙂 .i’ve been smoking them for a few months now among other strain’s and they are still my favorite by far .

    al the best

    1. Hola Wes; thanks mate, I’d love to see some photographs and maybe post them here in this thread if possible? I was very impressed with this strain and have now seen two varieties/phenos just recently, would love to see what your Auto looks like. Peace -Russ

  3. While that cannabis pictured above looks delicious it’s absolutely not thing mint gsc, even batches grown under intense sun and without the signature purple color still looks much different than what is pictured. Thin mint is often very dense, some purple on the outside, and a noticeable doughy flavor.

    1. Hola Victor; thank you for your comment. You could be right; as I mentioned in the comments, the original “Berner” GSC presented to me was nothing like the weed that I had, and this “TMGSC” definitely did not taste doughy, but the original GSC certainly did. I have had several “experts” express confidence that this is likely TMGSC, while several others have stoutly claimed it cannot be. While I am not sure about this weed anymore, I am going to let the review stand and collect comments and opinions, because the fact remains that – GSC or not – this was a very special cannabis strain. 😉 Thanks. Peace -Russ

  4. One of my favorites during spannabis! But I don’t think its the “real” GSC like you mentioned. The structure and the color is totaly different. But who knows? Maybe its just one of many phenotypes. Can’t you ask your friend or the la mesa growing staff, where they got their clones (seeds?). Would love to know what I was smoking ;)!

    1. Hi Tim; despite my friend’s personal and professional evidence to the contrary, I think that this was probably genuine TM GSC or some pheno thereof. The club also had some high-CBD GSC recently that was legit, and the lead grower assured me that the source was a reliable one that they trusted. Despite the controversy, what I can tell you is that whatever this weed was, it was amazing; fragrance, taste, potency and duration were all excellent. Yummy stuff! Thanks! Peace -Russ

  5. CONTROVERSY: If you search the web for information about this strain, you will find there is often controversy about whether the particular batch of weed a poster has is TM GSC or not. This case is no different. While writing this review I presented a few buds of the strain to the president of one of the best cannabis clubs in Barcelona. He immediately dismissed it, saying that it was NOT Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. In fact, the rapper Berner had visited the club in question within the last year and had brought the president some original TM GSC that he had helped developed. Surprisingly, the president of the club had some of this special weed in his personal reserve and brought me a few buds.

The difference was striking. His weed was strong, earthy and rich. The color of the buds was much darker than the TM GSC I was reviewing. It could be that these were two radically different strains, but it is possible they could be 2 wildly unique phenotypes of the same TM GSC. If you have any experience with this strain, what are your thoughts?
