9 Things To DO High in Barcelona

Rent a bike store in Barcelona

You asked for it, so we did it! Traveling is one of our fave things to do at this time of the year, always stopping off at places where we can come by a little of our favorite herb! If you’re planning to go to Barcelona, you must know that cannabis (marijuana) is not legal in Barcelona, yet, but you are protected by strict privacy laws when you consume cannabis in a private space, such as a cannabis social club in Spain (as we have mentioned before!).

So if you decide to go Barcelona, Catalonia’s capital, here are the top 9 things you can do while you’re a bit high!

  1. Visit a Barcelona Cannabis Social Club…. of course this was going to be first on our list! If you need help please feel free to contact us. Remember that most Barcelona Cannabis Social Clubs will ask you to be over 21, a habitual user & have a sponsor. Many are oases of calm and can get you a couple of hours out of the heat of the Barcelona summer.
  2. Go to the Beach… Yes! This is one of the great things about Barcelona – you can hop on the metro,a bus, or Uber or Bolt,  and go to the beach, just lay back and relax! Barceloneta  has golden sands, excellent food, especially seafood and fish – Barceloneta was the original fishing quarter of the city -and a cool crowd who gather to sit and watch the sunset.
  3. Listen to music stoned… If you’re lucky enough to have rented a cool airbnb with great views of the bay, or similar, get in a comfy chair put on some quality headphones and pick out an album that means something to you. If your rental is more practical than comfy, then we suggest you get out into the city. Barcelona is one of the live music centers of the world,  with a range of excellent clubs and venues, and some choice summer festivals too. Check out the programs for ROCK FEST BARCELONA, BBF (Barcelona Beach Festival), and the Cruilla Festival.  Most people would agree that there is something better about listening to music when you are stoned – that part of our brain that draws relations between ideas becomes stimulated when we’re high, and music is packed with metaphors and patterns.
  4. Having a conversation while you’re high… at most cannabis social clubs you’ll meet great, like-minded people and fall into a meaningful conversation – cannabis can bring out deep thoughts during the dog days of summer……..   What’s your recurring daydream on a balmy night? If you’re standing on the Eiffel Tower in summer, can you you really be aware of the extra 6 inches it gains in the heat? Scientifically, we’re happier in summer. Why?
  5. Rent a Bike… If you’re not too high & you are an experienced rider, you can rent a bike and pedal down to the beach.
  6. Read a book.… Just sit in the shade or on the beach with a book, post smoke. But you may prefer to head over to one of Barcelona’s cannabis social clubs and read in a quiet corner… our four favorite books for reading stoned are:
      1. Alice in Wonderland Louis Carrol
      2. Wonder Boys Michael Chabon
      3. Drop City T.C Boyle
      4. The Color of A Dog Running Away Richard Gwyn (It’s a historic thriller with a backdrop of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter)
      5. The Shadow of the Wind Carlos Ruiz Zafón (try reading it in Spanish – La sombra del viento)
  7. Visit an art gallery… Barcelona has world-class museums, from the MACBA, to the Picasso Museum, along with LaCaixa Foundation, Bansky Museum, or the Design Museum of Barcelona… Just begin musing on shapes, colors, forms……….
  8. Play a game of chess… most Cannabis Social Clubs in Barcelona, as in madrid, have a collection of board games with which you can while away some time in the coolness inside, but you can join in one of the many outside chess games which are played in the parks in the summer.
  9. I forgot… got it on the tip of my tongue, but i just can’t remember… that’s one of the fun things of being high in a great city like Barcelona!
