Who wants cannabis ice-cream? Plus how to find weed in Spain this summer

Hot town, summer in the city.  Back of my neck feeling dirty and gritty………

We don’t know how hot it’s been where you are, but here in Spain the beginning of spring has been feeling a lot like the start of summer.

But we found ourselves humming this erstwhile hit by The Lovin’ Spoonful when we heard what’s going on at Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream shop.

Ben & Jerry’s, the popular ice cream company, has been making headlines recently for their interest in creating a cannabis-infused ice cream. The company has been vocal about their support for cannabis legalization and the potential benefits it could bring to society. As such, it’s not surprising that they are considering adding cannabis to their ice cream lineup.

(As an aside, Marijuana Games can help with questions like, ‘Can I smoke weed in Spain?‘ or, ‘Where can I find weed in Madrid?’)

The idea of cannabis-infused ice cream may seem unconventional, but it’s not entirely new. There are already companies that make cannabis-infused edibles, including ice cream, but Ben & Jerry’s would be the first major ice cream brand to enter this market.

So what would Ben & Jerry’s cannabis ice cream look like? According to the company, it would not contain any THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis that produces a high. Instead, it would be infused with CBD, the non-psychoactive compound that is known for its potential therapeutic benefits. CBD has been shown to help with anxiety, inflammation, pain, and other conditions, making it a popular ingredient in wellness products.
Ben & Jerry’s has not yet released any specific details about the potential flavors or ingredients in their cannabis ice cream, but it’s safe to assume that they would follow their usual creative and whimsical approach to flavor development. They have a history of creating unique and playful ice cream flavors, such as “Phish Food” (chocolate ice cream with marshmallow swirls, caramel swirls, and fudge fish) and “Chunky Monkey” (banana ice cream with fudge chunks and walnuts). It’s possible that their cannabis ice cream flavors would be similarly creative, incorporating ingredients like mint, chocolate, or fruit. Or, chunky cannabis brownies ice-cream….. Mmm. Salivating already!!

One potential challenge for Ben & Jerry’s in creating cannabis ice cream is the legality of CBD in food products. While CBD is legal at the federal level, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet approved it as a food additive. This means that food products containing CBD are technically not legal, although many companies have been producing and selling them anyway. Ben & Jerry’s has indicated that they would not release their cannabis ice cream until it is legal to do so, so it’s possible that they are waiting for FDA approval or for further clarification on the legality of CBD in food.

Assuming that Ben & Jerry’s is able to overcome any legal hurdles, there is certainly potential for their cannabis ice cream to be successful. The demand for CBD products has been steadily increasing in recent years, and there is a growing interest in cannabis-infused foods and beverages. Cannabis-infused edibles are already a multi-billion dollar industry, and adding a well-known and trusted brand like Ben & Jerry’s to the market could help to further legitimize and normalize these products.

However, there are also concerns that the popularity of cannabis-infused products could lead to overconsumption or misuse. While CBD is generally considered safe and non-addictive, consuming too much of it can lead to unwanted side effects such as nausea or dizziness. There is also the risk of accidental ingestion by children or pets, which could lead to serious health issues. These concerns would need to be addressed by Ben & Jerry’s and other companies in the cannabis industry in order to ensure the safety and responsible use of their products.

Overall, Ben & Jerry’s cannabis ice cream is an intriguing idea that could have significant implications for the cannabis industry as a whole. While there are certainly challenges and risks involved, the potential benefits of a well-made and responsibly marketed cannabis-infused ice cream are hard to ignore.

In the meantime, if you’re feeling the heat in Madrid or Barcelona or, even Marbella and Mojácar, and would like to try some edibles with THC – or a variety of cannabis and cannabis products, Marijuana Games can help sponsor your membership to legitimate private cannabis social clubs.
