The best hash in the world is Riffman Gold, but you’ll probably never be able to find any to confirm or deny my claim. That’s because in all my travels I only found this hash once and it was for a limited time. I have looked for it in several different countries and not only have I not found it, most people have not heard of Riffman Gold.
I lived in Diemen, Netherlands for the first half of 2012, and it took nearly a month to get internet service at our flat. (Diemen is about a 5 minute walk from Amsterdam.) I work from my computer so that meant I had to find an alternate solution, and working from a coffeeshop was my first choice.
But it couldn’t be just any coffeeshop, and it certainly couldn’t be one of the obnoxious frat-boy style coffeeshops that target the fleeting tourist in the city center. It had to be a fairly quiet shop off the beaten path with long hours. The shop also had to be situated so that I could position myself within view of my bike that would be chained up outside.
Coffeeshop Solo: My Vote for Best Coffeeshop in Amsterdam
I discovered Coffeeshop Solo on Koningsstraat and it fit the bill perfectly. The staff was awesome and allowed me to work there peacefully for weeks. Of course, I’d always buy some more weed and hash from them every few days, and I’d drink tea and order snacks and tipped well, so it worked out for them too.
When I arrived at my “office” one day, the menu had a new item on it: a fine hash called Riffman Gold. It was a Moroccan hash and it was fresh but dark. It was soft and even with exposure it didn’t easily harden. The smell was luxurious chocolate spice and the taste was similar.
Riffman had a perfect middle-ground high that was intense but still allowed me to function including riding my bike hundreds of miles each week. I bought that hash every week even though my normal practice was to mix things up. It was expensive at close to 18 Euro for a gram, but it was absolutely worth it.
I’ve smoked a lot of hash in my time and eventually even the mildest hash begins to wear your throat and lungs down if smoked regularly. I’ve also smoked some hash that while potent just killed my throat. But Riffman was mild to the end and never bothered me even though I smoked it every day.
Riffman Gold was by far the best hash I have ever tried, and I’m hopeful that I’ll find it again someday. I was able to score that beautiful hashish for about 2 months, and then I had to go back to the United States for the summer.
When I returned to Amsterdam and Coffeeshop Solo in the fall, they didn’t have Riffman anymore. And when I checked nearly a year after that, the clerks remembered the hash fondly but shook their heads.
Nope, they can’t get it anymore. Pity.

Bro the best Hash is found in Himachal Pradesh, India. The best quality is always sold in small quantities by Shepard Boys, they go to Jungles and rub the best plants to get the best quality so they can earn bit more money. This stuff is best because it is free from any contaminents like Dust or grass. It is soft and oily and very strong. Use small quantities to get the best results and don’t buy large quantities as it tends to hardened and lose magic.

Go to Cali, drop 70-80 dollars on a gram of Rosin and it will blow any brick hash out of the water ;] the young stoners out west are making big moves and though it is way more expensive, the hash oil being made right here in the States is the best hash in the world no doubt about it

And just an update, although people here are a bit protective in nature but treats tourists as Gods. . I can assure you that you’ll not find a place as peaceful and beautiful as Malana-Kasol. . Afterall the place is in the laps of the Himalayas

I’have benn to malana and know some locals… locals (most) don’t provide there best material always… try asking for more potent stuff and never buy loads from a single person… always buy small quantities from different locations..

And don’t ever call it Hash while you’re there. Technically, it is hash, but the purists prefer to call it charas (cha-ras)
In Mumbai we would call the more inferior stuff “hash” (like the random dried afghan or Moroccan stuff we’d come across on dry days)
Also, don’t use tooo much. Most people think more is better but that’s not the case at all. Use a tiny amount and see its magic, instead of loading it up with big chunks of charas and having it not burnt well (along with running out of your stash a lot sooner!)
Oh I cannot wait to go back to Mumbai for my summer holidays and blow that Italian clay pipe with my favorite herbs in it.
Ditch this hybrid weed for a bit! (Ps i don’t buy charas from here coz it’s not too common and the guys who have it have it at a hardcore rate)
I’m a charas purist, I’ve paid minimal amounts for the same and will continue to do the same. These “business deals” on charas will kill me to imagine where the world has reached. So i’d rather wait to go back home and score the real stuff the right way. It’s a psychological thing, being born and brought up in shiva land, I’m sure you get th le drift.
And if by chance, a generous local decides to part with some seasoned charas he’s got then you’re in for paradise. They usually don’t sell that stuff but hold it for years to toke it with close ones.

The village is really protective about its heritage and privacy so be very courteous and super senstiive while interacting with locals.
I’ve travelled quite a bit to the legal hot spots: Amsterdam (twice) Colorado (twice already!)
Besides staying in Mumbai and scoring from partially legal places like barcelona, London, miami, NYC, Melbourne, Milan and even Tokyo, I now live in LA with a medical card on me.
Malana is the most spiritual you could get. It’s creamy, earthy and sacred. Treat it with respect and and smoke it with love.
Again, don’t be too intrusive with the locals. Things have changed there lately because of so much awareness via social media etc. it’s getting more commercial and the spiritual bit is quickly fading away.
So even if you go, add to the good vibes and return!

Hey Russ! Brother, it seems that you’ve never been to India and never tried the Indian Malana Cream which they call it the best hash in the world. Well I wanna tell you something about Malana and why they call it the best hash in the world.
Malana is an ancient village situated in Himachal Pradesh, India. Our lovely Mary Jane grows there naturally ( no one grows it by themselves) that’s why it is called weed.
The quality of hash there is supreme or maybe more super than supreme (that’s why it is aka super cream).
Brother if you ever make a trip to Malana, Kasol or Shimla (all these places are nearby) try it, you’ll find something new and different and way better than anything.
And one more thing, how it feels to smoke it.
It feels like a ton of cotton is tickling inside your lungs and your body has been lifted by clouds and your mind is in heaven.

You’re absolutely right. It’s all about the process and the quality of the cannabis plant. In northern India (around Malana/Kinnaur), Charas (hash) is made from hand-rubbing the resin off of a live plant. This process is what separates the charas of Malana from the rest of the world. Malana cream is of superior quality and most of it is actually exported from India to Europe (Amsterdam). I’m surprised you didn’t come across Malana cream in the cafe’s!
Hi Juanita; surprisingly, I have never come across Malana cream before. However, it is recommended to me via this site and email more than any other strain or type of hash. The process you describe is what we in the States refer to as “Finger Hash,” and indeed it is the highest quality way of producing hash possible. I think a trip to India is in order, because this Malana Cream sounds like it may be better than the Riffman Gold. I am going to connect with my Indian buddies this spring and make a trip. The Dampkring in Amsterdam sells Riffman! Different kinds. Dont know if they have Riffman Gold though. Riffman is a kind of natural hashish, very soft and a nice high. I don’t smoke often, but when in amsterdam I almost always buy it!

best place for riffman hash is the original dampkring in adam or the tweede kammer ( all the same company anyway ). As far as i know these are the only guys that have riffman hash on the menu for ages now…try the simsemilla at 15€ a gramm…i go bonkers over this stuff as its just so smooth with a good punch and nothing in the last 15 years could compete. take care

Hey Tony; actually, I’ve never tried any Jamaican hash that I’m aware of. I have tried lots of Pakistani hash, and I agree with you – it’s pretty awesome. I’ve had some Afghani that was quite nice too. But this Moroccan was intense and long lasting, well worth the cough after smoking it on a daily basis.

Honestly, I think it’s more about the quality of the marijuana you make the hash with, the quality of the processes used, and the care involved in packaging and storing the product.
