Voyagers Coffeeshop & Hotel in Amsterdam is located close to Centraal Station and the Damrak. I discovered Voyagers while walking about in Amsterdam’s famously seedy red light district and was pleased to learn that the place is both a coffeeshop and a hotel. I went to Voyagers with expectations for a simple but relaxing evening after several days of exhausting travel, but that didn’t happen. In fact, the experience was so terrible that it permeated the entire next day – even hours after I had checked out – and overall I wished I had stayed somewhere else. A finely crafted cannabis strain, Silvia’s Blue is actually phenotype #1 of LA Blue. However, Silvia’s Blue is much stronger and longer lasting than LA Blue, making it a better candidate for various medicinal uses. This strain is a hybrid consisting of Blue Dream, LA Confidential and Chocolope, with some major differences between this phenotype and the one I wrote about earlier in 2014 in this strain review. Despite a considerable time spent in development, the newness of this strain means that it is exceedingly rare, so if you find yourself suddenly able to acquire Silvia’s Blue, you should count yourself lucky. An undercover policeman sat in the hallway of the Dragon cannabis club in Barcelona recently, posing as a tourist. When a legitimate member of the club, who for the sake of this article we’ll call “Mr. Dean,” entered the hallway and pressed the intercom button for admittance to the interior of the club, the “tourist” suddenly stood up, identified himself as a police officer and proceeded to question, badger and threaten Mr. Dean, eventually telling him that Dragon was being shut down and that he would need to go to a different club. The now-famous Barcelona cannabis club is being bludgeoned to death by the city’s council and lawmakers. In the last few days at least 49 cannabis clubs in Barcelona have been closed, and some have been shuttered forcefully by police after authorities encountered resistance from club owners. The Twitter marijuana strain is a hard-hitting new cannabis strain developed in sunny California, although I cannot figure out why it is named after the social media site. The twitter weed strain is extremely potent and easily puts you to sleep, while I have an idea in my head of the social media giant as a twitching, tremulous little creature that cannot sit still; they are opposite concepts. Regardless of the story behind the namesake, Twitter is the strongest cannabis I’ve had in a while and the high lasts for more than 3 hours for veteran tokers, earning it a full 5 Star rating. Barcelona’s cannabis clubs have been under intense scrutiny and pressure by city administrators and police during the month of June, 2014. Clubs have been raided, staff and board members arrested and imprisoned and members have been harassed and ticketed in some cases. Several clubs have been closed permanently by Spanish police. Fortunately, many cannabis clubs in Barcelona have survived this onslaught, but according to some, this will only be a temporary reprieve. Jack Herer 3 is a Sativa-dominant hybrid cannabis strain based on genetic stock developed by my friends at Sensi Seeds in Amsterdam. This version of Jack Herer 3 was grown by a collective in California, and they did a smashing job of it too, as this weed is a superior, well-rounded example of what a good hybrid should be like. Other than XXX (of which I could not acquire enough to conduct a review, damn it!), Jack Herer 3 is the best strain that I have tried in 2014, with the exception of one seriously disappointing factor.
