The Girl Scout Cookies marijuana strain is a hybrid based primarily on an unknown strain crossed with Durban Poison and Kush. I acquired some Girl Scout Cookies from my connection in the Northeast, but I happen to know that he has it shipped in every week from California. So it’s possible that the GSC I’m smoking is the real deal. A 5 star cannabis strain, Girl Scout Cookies gets me super high for long periods of time, but it isn’t much to write about in the way of taste, aroma or even appearance. The 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup in Denver fell on the fabled stoner’s holiday, 4/20. Tens of thousands of cannabis enthusiasts flocked to the Mile High City that week, and if you tried to buy some weed at a Denver dispensary you’d know they were there; long lines snaked out the door and down the sidewalk at many retail weed shops in the days before the Cup. Many shops were unprepared for the influx, although ultimately it seemed to me that there was more than enough weed for everyone.

I attended both days of the event and had an awesome time – there was so much to do that I missed out on quite a lot. However, I did manage to get a little more than 100 good photographs of the people, businesses and organizations behind the 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup, and I’m happy to share them with you here.

This review is for the Deep Chunk strain – one of the most popular cannabis strains for more than 40 years. I’ve seen Deep Chunk on various weed menus in Amsterdam and Barcelona, but I never tried it until now. I acquired this particular strain in the state of Maine in the U.S., so I was quite surprised and pleased to learn that it was available in such a backwoods region. Deep Chunk is the first 5 star marijuana strain that I’ve had since arriving back in the United States this winter, so it’s been an awesome experience to be able to get my hands on this. One look inside La Mente cannabis club of Barcelona is all it takes to realize it is not your average stoner den. The room is bathed in light and happy smokers chat loudly to each other over the house music. Truthfully, this is the kind of spot I have been looking for in Barcelona; an upbeat place to hang out for an hour or two to do some writing away from my apartment; a happy contrast from the heavily wood-paneled cafés of the city. In fact, it’s not really a fair comparison to attempt, but since so many people insist that one is better than the other, this post is designed to set the record straight in the most even-handed way possible. Blue Caramel Dream is a cannabis strain that has been developed by an undisclosed grower and geneticist out of California. The strain is an indica dominant hybrid that was created by crossing the Blueberry Strain with Cream Caramel and Northern Lights. I find this particularly interesting because I don’t consider Northern Lights to be a premium strain, but the resultant Blue Caramel Dream is indeed a high-grade premium marijuana strain.
